What The union worker (Wobblies) headed to Everett, WA. on a boat called the Verona When they were close to the docks a shot was fired, and chaotic shooting broke out and lasted for minutes 2 Deputies were killed, 20 wounded including the Sheriff on the docks Up to 12 Wobblies were killed, 27 wounded on the Verona It was the bloodiest battle of the Pacific Northwest

When. . . This battle took place on November 5, 1916
Why. . . This battle was caused because the Wobblies were headed to Everett for a free speech rally, after the Snohomish County Sheriff, Donald Mc. Rae, attacked the union workers a few days before in an effort to make the Wobblies retreat. The Verona was coming to support the union and to rally, but they were stopped at the docks when shots were fired.
