The Emperor Constantine Roman Christian 300 A. D.

The Emperor Constantine of Rome.

Constantine was a fearless warrior.

He led armies of soldiers called legions.

Constantine’s enemy was Maxentius, who wanted to be Emperor.

During the battle, Constantine saw a bright light and the words, You Will Conquer, written in the sky. Even though he was not a Christian, Constantine believed it was Jesus speaking to him.

Constantine became a Christian as a result of that experience. He had the symbol, the Chi Rho, engraved on the shields of all his soldiers.

Constantine fought the battle against Maxentius, confidently believing that the God of Jesus Christ would give him the victory.

Under Constantine, Christianity spread throughout all the countries around the Mediterranean.

Constantine made Christianity the official religion of Rome. During the reign of Constantine, Christianity not only became the preferred religion, but other religions were condemned.

Even though Constantine had become a Christian years before, he was not baptised until he was on his deathbed.

In the last fifty years, movies have been made about the conversion of Constantine. Coins minted when Constantine ruled Rome had his face on them.
