Interactive space Key Learning • • That topic gave a broad understanding of how a digital space should be Key considerations for defining and designing a interactive space Elements of Interactive Home Shopping were discussed Consumer’s perspective towards digital space Assignment (Learning activity) • • • A case study of Countdown’s online business was conducted for understanding the factors considered The ease of navigation and the degree of value addition provided to the customer How online business is the business of future for countdown ?
Customer experience Key Learning • • • The primary objective is to learn about what the customer experience is. What are the factors which an ecommerce business should keeps in mind while defining the customer experience What would be the customer takeaway from the website. Assignment (Learning activity) • • • I conducted a detailed study of Trade Me’s business activities How it aims to provide the services it promises in its service mission ? How does it serves the utility of the customer expectations. Key Learning • The topics helped us learn from the successful online ecommerce website and how are they delivering the utility to the customer.
Digital Strategy Key Learning • • • Digital strategy as they name suggest, gave me an understanding of WHY going digital is not a choice anymore for the businesses Why business can not procrastinate anymore for going digital. Early mover advantage or late mover disadvantage was also discussed in the industry context. I also got to know the steps of how one can approach digitization I also got some context of how can an existing business can leverage and emulate from its competition. Industrial best practices and industrial benchmarks were also discussed.
Business Model Key Learning • • • This session gave me a very thorough insight on how business are making money A deep dive was taken into the kind of business models exist, what utility they offer and why does customer wants to spend money on their website A canvas of business models was studies which gave us a holistic guide as to how businesses can examine existing/define new online business models Assignment (Learning activity) • • Our group did a detailed study for the business model of Netflix Corp LLC. Competitive analysis was carried out to find out how Netflix did better than the competition
Copyrights Key Learning • • This session with its discussions helped us understand the NZ Copyright act 1994 How could we be deliberately and in deliberately are violating the copyrights We discussed the case of Megaupload and the multiple ways the website was violating the global copyright norms Data ownership over cloud sourcing was also discussed Assignment (Learning activity) • • My Group did a study of a torrent search engine –thepiratebay. org We got an understanding of how the torrent websites are violating laws How and why are they running their business What implications could the user attract on them.
My Key Takeaways • • This paper has given me a good understanding of how little I knew in context of digital enterprise and how much I know The paper guided me to look at the topics which were often ignored but are really important such as: – Copyrights – Customer experience – Customer behaviour • • The paper taught me how to look at the business from the customer perspective and define business activities/models I also got to have look at Business Analytics from an academic perspective
