� 1) Your mouth is where the food gets chewed up and swallowed. The swallowing action forces the food into a ball and then down the epiglottis in to the stomach. The stomach breaks it down even more.
� 2) The mechanical digestion churns the mass in the stomach. The chemical digestion outs acidic acids and breaks down the mass. The enzymes break down it even more
� 3) The components of the that supplies the body with energy is nutrients. It is the main thing that keeps your body running at all times.
� 4) It absorbs toxic material that is in your system such as alcohol. It is the controller of your blood sugar
� 5) Bile is an essential part of the digestion of the fats, it is found in the live and is also produced. It is made of cholesterol, lecithin, pigments, and salts.
� 6) Each of the body system contributes to the homeostasis of another system to your body.
� 7) The pharynx is a tube known as the throat, connects your nasal and oral cavities. The pharynx is located at the back of your throat and extended downwards.
� 8)Peristalsis is a series of rhythmic muscular contractions and relaxation.
� 9) Urea is formed when the cartilaginous fishes use energy to convert ammonia into a compound.
� 10) The Duodenum is the upper portion of the small intestine. The function of the Duodenum is to further process the material from the stomach called chyme
� 11) Villi has a few functions, two being able to absorb nutrients through the folds (in surface) by means of diffusion and active transport
� 12) One disorder of the digestive system is colon and rectal cancer. It’s a malignant cell found in the colon or rectal region. Both cancers share many features. They are referred to as the same cancer. By screening and polyp removal procedures, this cancer by death percentage has decreased. This is the second leading cause of death by cancer in the U. S.
