The respiratory system is in charge of oxygenating blood in the cardiovascular system. The digestive system is responsible for breaking down food and drink into usable energy sources. WHAT DO THEY DO?

THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

Tongue: It’s vital for chewing and swallowing food. Teeth: Another vital component for chewing food. Esophagus: It carries food and drinks to the stomach. Stomach: It digest the food in a way that makes it useful for the body. Liver: Involved in many metabolic processes. Pancreas: Critical in food processing, especially in regulating blood sugar levels. Colon: Also known as the large intestine, it specializes in removing nutrients from food. Larynx: Allows air to pass through to the lungs, while blocking food and drink. Also the voice box. Trachea: Transports air to the lungs.
