Goal: to define if a foreigner, speaking with a thick accent has a chance to become a well-known in-demand actor; to clear it up studying the life stories of some world movie stars. To realize the goal I stated several tasks • To study the notions of the word «dialects» and the «variations of the English language» • To find out more about Hollywood and his cast; • To compare the dialects and special features of pronunciation of Hollywood actors and actresses and the influence of it on their professional film career.

What is a dialect Let s start with the definition of the notion “dialect”. It means one of the varieties of the language. It is used as means of communication between people who live with each other sharing the same territory. But I am not going to speak only about dialects, but also about special features of pronunciation and accents of foreigners speaking English.

What is Hollywood? Hollywood is situated in Los Angeles, California. Here we can find a concentration of the world movie industries and a lot of famous actors. The population of Hollywood consists of different nationalities and races. All in all 167 000 people live here: 42% «white» 4% Afro-Americans 1% Indians 9% Asia 22% different races 40% considered to be of Spain origin

However, «the struggle for a place under the sun» demands a lot of efforts. The main thing here is being talented and purposeful. And if you are gifted and can make movies you have a chance to prove yourself and become a Hollywood Star.
