A Brief Overview of Day Pitney’s HIPAA Self-Assessment Tool Welcome to Day Pitney’s HIPAA Self-Assessment Tool! This Power. Point presentation provides a brief overview of a proprietary HIPAA self-assessment tool that is based on the Office for Civil Rights (“OCR”) HIPAA audit protocol.
Self-Assessment Tool Overview The Self-Assessment Tool is an easy-to-use excel-based survey instrument that contains five columns: Ø Column A: Contains the topic description of the Protocol Activity contained in OCR’s HIPAA Audit.
Self-Assessment Tool Overview Ø Column B: Contains the Self-Assessment Question(s) derived from the Protocol Activity. Ø By clicking a Protocol Activity in Column A, the user will be able to view the more detailed activity descriptions and protocol questions, including applicable regulatory citation(s).
Self-Assessment Tool Overview Ø Column C: After reading the Self-Assessment Question(s), the user selects a response from the drop-down menu in Column C to the best of their knowledge. Ø Column D: Any questions, concerns or uncertainties can be noted in Column D.
Self-Assessment Tool Overview Ø Columns F & G: As each Self-Assessment Question is answered, a summary of the responses will be automatically generated in Columns F-G. The Tool also generates charts which reflect the results of “yes, ” “no, ” or “don't know” answers for each protocol question. The results are displayed in several graphic formats for analysis.
