THE DAL LABYRINTH AND ISOMETRIC PERSPECTIVE ACTIVITY 1
THE DALÍ LABYRINTH AND ISOMETRIC PERSPECTIVE
ACTIVITY 1: INFORMATION ABOUT THE SYMBOLS IN DALÍ ARTWORK ACTIVITY 1 : prepare a Power Point Presentation about the meaning of some of the most important symbols in Dali artworks Steps: 1. Look for the meaning of the following symbols in the Dali artworks: SYMBOL - Angels -Burning giraffe -Drawers -Cypress. -Crutches. -Lion -Lobster -Snail -Ants -Flies -Soft Clocks. -Elephants -Bread MEANING TITLE ARTWORK EXAMPLE DATE
2. Look for Dalí artworks where we can find these symbols and put an example of each one in your presentation Each slide must content: -the symbol and meaning -the title of the artwork and date -The photograph of the artwork Webs about Dalí artworks https: //thedali. org/the-dali-on-line/ https: //archive. thedali. org/mwebcgi/m web. exe? request=collection https: //www. thedaliuniverse. com/es Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueras https: //www. salvadordali. org/en/museums/ Dalí Theatre-Museum. Activity 2. Design a Dalí labyrinth applying the isometric perspective Add , integrate some representative Dalí symbols to a labyrinth in a creative way Example of a labyrinthic structure in isometric perspective Dalí symbols
ISOMETRIC PERSPECTIVE Isometric drawings are 3 D drawings. They show three sides, all in dimensional proportion, but none are shown as a true shape with 90 degree corners. All the vertical lines are drawn vertically but all horizontal lines are drawn at 30 degrees to the base line. Isometric is an easy method of drawing 3 D images. You can use isometric paper, which has guidelines pre-drawn for you,
Design a labyrinth applying the isometric perspective Step 1: print the isometric grid and draw the structure you want with graphite pencil following the guidelines of the paper. You can try to practise with the computer and the isometric shapes in the following link: http: //www. educacionplastica. net/isometrica. html
Add the Dalí symbols to your structure Step 2: when you have three-dimensional structure you have to think about the Dali symbols that you want to add to the drawing. For example: if you want to draw some ants on the floor or to put some egg , a soft clock on some surface, some drawer coming out from the wall…You have freedom to do some walls higher than others(In the example are all the same size). It is important that you draw everything in your composition before redrawing it with felt-tip pens and colouring with pencils. This way you can erase parts you do not need.
Dalí symbols
Step 3: remember to colour the three sides of the walls with chiaroscuro: light, intermediate and dark tones to get the impression of volume( you already did it in March as an activity)
Activity 3 Designing Dalí name applying the isometric perspective Following the given examples design a isometric structure with the name Salvador Dalí or only DALÍ and add some representative symbol of Dalí world.
