THE DEVELOPMENT OF BASKETBALL Basketball was on the Olympic program in 1904, actually served as the AAU(Amateur Athletic Union of the USA) championship for that year. In 1936, basketball make its first appearance as a medal sport at the Olympics and the sport has been included in every Olympic Games since. The USA won all the Olympic titles until 1972 when they were defeated by the Soviet Union.
THE DEVELOPMENT OF BASKETBALL Today, basketball has become one of the most popular sports in the world. US college basketball is wildly popular in the United States. And the NBA is the most popular basketball team in the world.
BASKETBALL RULES AND BASKETBALL STANCE
BASKETBALL RULES 1. The Rules. Basketball is a team sport. Two teams of five players each try to score by shooting a ball through a hoop elevated 10 feet above the ground. The game is played on a rectangular floor called the court, and there is a hoop at each end. 2. The ball may be thrown in any direction with one or both hands. 3. The ball may be batted in any direction with one or both hands. 4. A player cannot run with the ball. The player must throw it from the spot on which he catches it, allowance to be made for a man who catches the ball when running at a good speed if he tries to stop. 5. The ball must be held in or between the hands; the arms or body must not be used for holding it. 6. No shouldering, holding, striking, pushing, or tripping in any way of an opponent. The first infringement of this rule by any person shall count as a foul; the second shall disqualify him until the next basket is made or, if there was evident intent to injure the person, for the whole of the game. No substitution shall be allowed. 7. A foul is striking at the ball with the fist, violation of rules three and four and such described in rule five. 8. If either side makes three consecutive fouls, it shall count a goal for the opponents (consecutive means without the opponents in the mean time making a foul. 9. The time shall be two fifteen-minute halves, with five minutes rest between. 10. The side making the most points in that time is declared the winner.

MICHAEL JORDAN Michael Jeffrey Jordan, also known by his initials, MJ, is an American former professional basketball player. He is also a businessman, and principal owner and chairman of the Charlotte Hornets. Jordan played 15 seasons in the National Basketball Association for the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards.
LEBRON JAMES Le. Bron Raymone James is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association. He has started at the small forward and power forward positions.
