Heritage Flowers – Geographical location Heritage Flowers, a world class farm in Africa, is situated in Kenya, Laikipia County, in very close proximity to the Equator. Due to its unique geographical positioning a steady 12 hour daylight is guaranteed to maximise all year round production at all times. The farm is a large-scale professionally managed operation with significant scope for expansion. It covers a combined total of 57 ha, currently producing 12 ha of high quality super intermediate roses, with a plan to expand to a production of 40 ha of roses as well as 12 ha of out door spray carnations and other summer flower crop. Heritage Flowers – Packhouse Facilities Heritage Flowers has constructed a state of the art packing facility which serves not just for straight lines roses packing but also for Packed @ Source Mixed Bouquet Lines Our pack house facility is created with one thought in mind, how to deliver a packing operation with maximum process optimization adhering to international top line standards ensuring that our employees are fully supported on duty and during their breaks in terms of rest facilities. Hertage Flowers pack house facility has hygiene on top of its mind and the disposal of our waste product is vertically integrated through our gold standard recycling policy, our composting process for out-graded organic product as well as our very cleverly designed waste water re-usage facility

Water Lagoon and Irrigation Facility The farms water source is perennial stemming from an all year round permanent river. Combined with our large scale water storage facility, a 70, 000 m 3 lagoon, the water demand is to a majority supplemented by our strict rain water harvesting policy supported by an average precipitation of 900 mm/year This precipitation of 900 mm is in comparison to Kenya’s average rainfall is 600 mm/year providing optimum water resource Our water filtration systems are based on most current technology and provide the most environmentally sustainable water resource solution.

Greenhouse & Production Facilities Our product is grown on nutritious virgin soil, strictly with our environment in mind, and supplemented by organic fertilizers produced inhouse through its own special method of organic matter production such as wormiculite. The application of such high quality inputs ensures best possible plant growth and plant health in line with our companies HQ (High Quality) product/production strategy Phase 1 featuring 12 ha’s has been completed and our company has now began construction of phase 2 which is another 10 ha on track with the company’s ambitious growth plan

Production Location & Soil Uniqueness Besides the matter of daylight duration due to its location near the Equator, Heritage Flowers has selected its production location based on Kenya’s unique Agro - Climatic Zone Map which demonstrates that the farm is spread across Zone II & III providing exceptional vegetative soil conditions, mainly moist, enabling optimum plant growth environment with very low risk in crop failure This study has been created by industry experts and environmental scientist over decades and is a major tool for production land selection As most of the land is nearly level with slight slopes this provides a great foundation for planned future expansion and growth whilst minimizing major earth moving requirements.
