The Community Chronicle Edition #4 The Community Chronicle January 4 The Auditorium A New Year By Robert Eng Have a Nice Day skipped Jonas, Eleven. Nineteen, when she was calling up the Elevens to receive their Assignments and become an adult. The tension was felt throughout the crowd until at last the Chief Elder apologized to everyone especially Jonas for the apprehension. It must be a great honor for Jonas to be chosen as the next Receiver of Memory. As the Chief Elder said, he wasn’t assigned to the job, he was selected. His qualities proved him to be worthy: intelligence, integrity, courage, and the Capacity Page 1 he stands up and takes the blame when he is wrong. Extreme courage is needed in his training as a Receiver of Memory. Finally according to the current Receiver of Memory Jonas is already Seeing Beyond, an incomprehensible activity that only the Receiver and Jonas can see. Wisdom is the only quality not included in Jonas which he will pick up from his training according the Receiver. Community Chronicle A new, prosperous year is upon us in our community that includes a few events worthy of note. First of all, the Nurturing Center has done a great job of nurturing forty-nine of the fifty newchildren. The missing newchild from the fifty did not have to be released on behalf of one of the Nurturers there caring for the newchild. An extra year was given to the newchild so it could grow and have another chance at life. Another contribution to this exciting new year is the choosing of a new Receiver of Memory, Jonas. We were all anxious at the Ceremony of Twelve when our Chief Elder to See Beyond. Jonas’s intelligence is shown throughout his school grades as being a top student. Integrity is shown in Jonas when A newchild New Idea comes to Mind An indoor Central Plaza? by Robert Eng Community Chronicle Last year, an Eleven thought of an idea of creating an “indoor Central Plaza” where people could gather and talk about their day. This building would have an area for different activities such as talking or playing. One room could be for conversations where informal meetings could be held instead of the Auditorium. Another room could hold a public swimming pool for the community to practice their skills and build their muscle coordination. The Eleven, now a Twelve, was assigned as an Engineer to layout the building and oversee its progress. The blueprints have already been made and construction is underway. The projected finish time is a year if all goes well. Continental Army drills

It is a tragic event that happens rarely and we always feel that sadness and despair when a child is lost. Our Ceremony of Loss helped Caleb fade away from everyone’s consciousness. Thankfully, this Ceremony of Ones Caleb was replaced with another Caleb with the Murmur of Replacement Ceremony where we chanted Caleb’s name to bring him back to the community.
