Picture of statue Thus. . . But. . . It is technically impossible that the statue could have straddled the harbour entrance, and the popular belief that it did so dates only from the Middle Ages.

Interesting Facts 1. Its relation with the Statue of Liberty also as symbol of freedom. 2. There has been a debate among historians about whether the statue was standing with one foot on either side of the Rhodes’ harbour.
