Reuven Main Character: Reuven Malther 1. Reuven lives alone with his father. Because his mother died at a young age for Reuven. 2. Reuven is best friends with Danny Saunders and met him while playing and was in in accident with Danny. 3. Reuven Malther wants to be a rabbi when he becomes older.

Setting of the Book The setting of the book takes place in during World War Two in Brooklyn. Both Reuven and Danny live in brownstone homes with multiple floors. There is also different school locations as Danny and Reuven move on with their life. Such as their high school and the college and the Library where they spend most of their time together.

Five Main Events -At the beginning of the book Danny accidentally hits Reuven in the eye with a baseball while playing his team. -Another main event is the first time that Reuven went over to Danny's house and met his father for the first time. -A key event in this book is when the war ends and Reuven and Danny´s family discover the news. -When Danny shares that he will be reading Freud(an author writing on the topic of psychological analysis -One event near the end of the book is when Reuven and Danny both go to college

Moral of the Story The moral of the story is no matter what happens with life and friends always try to remain with them and stay close to them. For example when Danny and Reuven spend a month apart because of sickness and family buisness.

Opinion of the book I personally think that this as a great book and encourage others to read the book And obtain the moral from the book and continue relationships with other friends and family even through hard times and sickness. After reading this book I look back and remember to value all friendships
