Legislative Framework • Equality Act 2010: – Schools and settings will not discriminate against anyone on the basis of gender, disabilities, ethnicity, faith, age, sexual orientation, transgender identity, pregnancy or marriage • Education and Inspections Act 2006: – Head teachers must, with the advice and guidance of governors and the assistance of school staff, identify and implement measures to promote good behaviour, respect for others and self-discipline amongst pupils and to prevent all forms of bullying. • Birmingham Curriculum Statement • UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
The Birmingham Schools Pledge Our School is founded on the principles upholding the dignity and rights of the individual. Respectful relationships are at the core of our school community, allowing everyone to respect and understand those they meet. It is our aim that we all develop the skills needed to embrace the responsibilities of being an outstanding learner, an active citizen and make Birmingham a great place to grow up in.
