Beams and Efficiency Stable beams from C to U, from few Me. V/u to 95 Me. V/u and 24 Me. V/u, respectively, using the existing Cyclotron à Secteurs Séparés CSS 1 or CSS 1+CSS 2. Using a thick carbon target and the most intense stable beams from CSS 1+CSS 2, rare isotope beams (RIB) in the mass range below A=80 and intensities greater than 103 pps can be produced and post-accelerated at the SPIRAL 1 facility using CIME AGATA + EXOGAM 2 setup, at 233 mm from the target, the total photopeak efficiency is expected to be ~15% at 1. 3 Me. V (~ 8. 8 % from AGATA (1 ) and ~6 % from EXOGAM). Without the EXOGAM detectors, the 1 AGATA array (140 mm from the target) is expected to have ~18% photo-peak efficiency at 1. 3 Me. V. The recommended maximum counting rate per AGATA crystal is 50 k. Hz. Silvia Lenzi – GHT Workshop 2012, October 29 -31, 2012
