Academy Award The academy awards, popularly known as the oscar, are the most prominent film award in the United States and most watched awards ceremony in the world. n The awards are chose to vote by member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and granted by the AMPAS. n

The AMPAS found on May 11, 1927 in California by Louis-B-Mater. n Now president of the academy is Sidney Ganis. n He announces all nominated academy awards. n

Academy History l l First academy award took place on May 16, 1929, at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. There were only 250 people attendance and price of ticket was 10 dollars. In those days everyone had known who is winner before the award. Therefore in next year, the present way which use the envelope had been adopted and broadcasting from second academy award.
