Minimum • The MINIMUM number is the smallest number in a group. • In the group below, what is the minimum number? 6, 9, 3, 7, 1, 4, 0, 8

Median • The MEDIAN in a group of numbers is the number that falls in the middle. • In order to find the median, the group must be in order! • What is the median in this group? 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10

Mode • MODE is the number that occurs the most frequently in a group of numbers. • If there are no repeating numbers, then there is no mode. • What is the mode? 12, 15, 17, 18, 19

Day 3

Mean • The MEAN is the average. • To find the mean, you add up all of the numbers in a group. You then divide by the number of numbers.

Mean • So, in the group of numbers below: 1, 3, 4, 8 • Step 1: Add all of the numbers. 1+3+4+8= 16

Mean • Step 2: Divide the total by the number of numbers. • In the number group 1, 3, 4, 8 there are 4 numbers. • My addition total was 16. So…. 16 / 4 = 4 • The mean is 4.
