The turkeys in the oven. You can bet that I am loving all the good things that are cooking and are looking so fine.

The relatives are everywhere- in the kitchen, in the chairswith their noses in the air, they’re waiting for the sign.

The T. V. is a blaring, lots of guys are sitting, staring, wanting football to begin and the marching bands to go away.

The ladies mostly hustle in the thick of all the bustle, and the kids are being cool Thanksgiving Day.

Yum, yum. Put it in my tummy, say yum, yum. I’m a turkey gourmet.

The turkey’s on the table, now we’re willing and we’re able to begin this awesome feast that’s going to satisfy.

Pass the mashed potatoes, pass the gravy, pass the dressing; heap it on but leave some room for all that righteous pumpkin pie.

Everyone is moaning, they are groaning, they are crying ‘cause they didn’t have the will to push their plates away.

Now they’re all asleep around the room all in a heap, except the kidsthey’re being cool. Thanksgiving Day.
