PROXIMITY WARNING - ZONE • When the remote operator enters the Warning-Zone his TC 5 will beep, his PDD will beep and the red light on top of the PDD (located directly below his chin) will start flashing quickly. • At the same time his loader’s Horn will honk on and off and it’s front and rear Headlights will flash on and off. • The TC 5 display will also flash a warning message to let the remote operator know that he’s too close to his remote loader. • These 7 warnings will continue until he moves back a safe distance away from his loader. 8

PROXIMITY HALT- ZONE • When the remote operator enters the Halt-Zone, all 7 of the audible and visual alarms on the TC 5, PDD and LHD will continue. • His loader’s Service and Park brakes will be applied, halting the loader. The throttle will return to idle, Tram Fwd and Rev will be cancelled and Neutral selected. • The TC 5 display will flash a warning message to let the remote operator know that he has entered the Halt-Zone and therefore his TC 5 cannot remotely control any of his LHD’s functions. • Fuel will continue flowing to his loader’s engine so it will not stop. His only sensible choice is to move back until he is a safe distance away from his LHD and all of the alarms are cancelled. Nautilus – 38 years of Safety 9

PROXIMITY SHUTDOWN ZONE l If the remote operator moves even closer to his loader it’s fuel supply will be cut off and after a second or two the engine will stop. l The Master Safety relay inside the loader’s Remote Vehicle Unit will be deenergized and all remotely controlled functions will be disabled. l All of the audible and visual alarms on the TC 5, PDD and LHD will also be turned off and it will be completely quiet. l Only the red light on top of the PDD will still be activated & flashing quickly showing the operator that his PDD is still monitoring the magnetic field strength from the MF 4 Radiator and knows that the LHD is too close. l The TC 5 display will also flash a warning message to let the remote operator know that his Loader’s engine has been shut down and the LHD is completely disabled. He should know anyway because the Front and Rear Headlights will be turned off and it will be dark. l The TC 5 operator will not be allowed to start his loader’s engine until he’s walked all the way back into the Safe-Zone. 10

AUTO-MATE One of the most important features of the TC 5 Buddy System is Auto-Mate because it provides a huge benefit for our customers in several ways: FLEXIBILITY Auto-Mate allows any operator to use any available TC 5 radio control or any available Proximity Detection Device (PDD) with any available TC 5 series Remote Vehicle Unit (RVU) to remotely control any loader. Therefore, our customers will have amazing flexibility. PURCHASING Purchasing a TC 5 or PDD is simple because no frequency or I. D. Code needs to be specified. These two items are generic and can be purchased using only their part numbers. SERVICING Mine electricians do not need to know the system’s frequency or I. D. Code and they don’t need any tools or special knowledge. They only need to know the correct password (Supervisor-Code). Auto-Mate makes trouble-shooting easy. If the system stops working then a Supervisor can temporarily disable the PDD in about 10 seconds. If the system still doesn’t work that leaves only the TC 5 and RVU to check and the TC 5 is easy to swap with any other TC 5 unit. Nautilus – making life easier for our customers 17

VEHICLE I. D. (V. I. D. ) Each loader has a unique V. I. D. Box which is bolted to it’s chassis and should remain there for the rest of it’s life, just like the V. I. N. number on your car. The RVU can be removed from the loader and replaced at any time. The V. I. D. box must not be removed. When his TC 5 is powered on it will show the operator everything he needs to know before he tries to remotely control it. The type of Loader it’s mated to and it’s License Plate #. For example: LHD LT 270 - 0007 The TC 5 will also show the operator the Serial Number of the PDD that it’s mated to. For example: PDD SN# 2017 -0138 Each time the TC 5 is powered on and the operator is about to remotely control a loader it will sound it’s horn 3 times and flash it’s headlights three times to let him (and anyone else nearby) know that this is the loader that he’s about to remotely operate.
