Tom made some mistakes that could have had really serious consequences. He was on beach holiday and enjoyed himself diving and water-skiing. As the days passed, he felt a bit bored and decided to explore the mountain to go trekking. Late in the afternoon, without any equipment, even forgetting to change his sandals, he set off up the mountain. On the halfway, he was amazed by the beautiful scenery and wanted to take a photo. That moment he realized that he had forgotten to take his mobile phone. But it was almost getting dark and too late to go back. So he sat on a huge grey rock and started to watch the sunset. The weather was so cool and the nature was so silent that he unconsciously fell asleep. When he woke up it was completely dark. He was a bit scared because he hadn’t told anyone where he was going. He leapt up and started to run in panic. He was moving so fast that he stumbled and fell down. His ankle was aching so badly. He thought that he might have injured it. He tried to walk but he couldn’t. It was inevitable that he would spent the night there.
Early in the morning Tom woke up with a noise. It was the voice of the search and rescue team. Tom was lucky that they found and brought him to the hospital. On the way he was thinking about the silly mistakes he had done. He felt regret for an instant. If he hadn’t forgotten his mobile phone, he would have asked for help immediately. And if he had gone trekking earlier, it wouldn’t have got dark. Moreover if he hadn’t forgotten to change his sandals, he wouldn’t have fallen. But he realized the most important thing that all these mistakes taught him a lesson. He couldn’t change the past but he could learn from his mistakes. He was lucky, worse could have happened.
