TN Graduation Requirements • • Earn a total of 225 credits Pass specific subject requirements • • • English: 40 credits (4 years) History/Social Science: 30 credits (3 years) Math: 30 credits (3 years) Laboratory Science: 20 credits (2 years) Fine Art or Language Other Than English: 10 credits (1 year) Career Technical Education (CTE): 10 credits (1 year) Physical Education: 20 credits (2 years) Health: 5 credits (1 semester) Electives: 60 credits
Credits & Grading • Students may earn 5 credits per class each semester for a total of 30 credits per semester or 60 credits per year • Progress reports every six weeks o Grading is cumulative • Credits and final grades are earned at semester’s end
Freshman Grades Count! • Colleges verify that 9 th grade CP classes are passed with at least a “C” grade • Recommendations for classes in future/advanced courses are dependent on grades in 9 th grade prerequisite classes • GPA for honors at graduation is cumulative • GPA is used for California Scholarship Federation
