NOVEL VOCABULARY P 2 The Capture A tiny hole appeared and from it protruded a small spur. __________________________ The first thing I noticed about this word is that it starts with the prefix –pro. I’ve seen this prefix in words like project, proceed and progress. All these words have to do with moving something forward. The prefix pro means forward. Pro is also used another way. If you are pro something, it means you in favour of it. You agree with it. The opposite of pro is anti which means against. Example: pro-war, anti-war
