Magnet test campaign Inspection “Magnet Patrol” (IMPACT 102490) è • • To detect coil

Magnet test campaign Inspection “Magnet Patrol” (IMPACT 102490) è • • To detect coil movements in magnets and transfer line quadrupoles • Removal of the magnet covers • Audio-visual inspection in pulsed mode Machine conditions • Machine closed to non-MNC personnel during tests (coord. with Carb Cavity) • All technical services shall stay available and operational (Electrical network, main magnet converters, cooling, interlocks, access) • Access system in «Magnet Patrol» mode Support from other groups • BE/OP to power the magnets and lock the accesses • All other teams ready to intervene in case of system/service failure (EPC, EL, MPE, ICS, CV, etc…) J. Bauche, TE-MSC, 08/11/2017

Magnet test campaign High voltage tests (+ delta I) (IMPACT 102490) è To detect

Magnet test campaign High voltage tests (+ delta I) (IMPACT 102490) è To detect weaknesses in magnet circuits insulation • • • Machine conditions • • • Main dipoles and quadrupoles (962 units) Busbars and water cooled cables are tested together with the magnets! Machine closed, in dedicated configuration (CIS system of EPC) Cooling circuits running Separation of power converters from load Test +/- 6 k. V on dipole and +/- 4 k. V on quadrupole circuits, from BA 3 In case of failure, localization in the machine, repair, and re-test Support from other groups • • TE/EPC for CIS configuration + HV test bench BE/OP for access control J. Bauche, TE-MSC, 08/11/2017
