Telenor AI lab at NTNU The Telenor AI lab will drive innovation and research in the fields of big data analytics and AI, through access to real data and problems and close collaboration between industry, research institutes, academia and startups. The AI Lab will run open source software, enabling local experimentation and cloud scale. Focus areas: telco / digital domain issues relevant to Norway; also open to other problems / data. 16

Io. T Innovation Network – key to Io. T ecosystem development in Norway Telenor will provide LPWA network infrastructure to relevant cities in Norway and engage start-ups, developers and universities to innovate LPWA based services and conduct relevant research. Phase 1 (2016 -2017) • Oslo • Trondheim • Tromsø Phase 2 (to be decided), e. g. : • Horten • Stavanger • Gjøvik

WHAT ? WHY ? – Drive innovation and create Io. T A physical, LPWA network infrastructure for Io. T services, sensors, software, intelligence Coverage in selected areas in Norway - relevant universities, startup communities ecosystem in Norway – Stimulate industry digitalization and new businesses in Norway – Develop new competence and keep talents HOW ? Necessary cloud-based LPWA infrastructure (backend) – Start-ups, entrepreneurs, students can Open innovation - embeddable developer boards – Io. T data will be linked to Telenor AI lab use LPWA platform free of charge (3 -5 yrs) for testing & experimentation – LPWA platform can be used in ongoing Telenor initiatives (e. g. , Smart Kommune) – First pilots in 2016
