ȘTEFAN LUCHIAN (1868 -1916) A Romanian painter, famous for his paintings with flowers and landscapes. • Ștefan Luchian was born in 1868 in Ștefănești. • He gratuated 3 Faculties of Arts: in Bucharest, Munchen, and then, in Paris. • In 1900 he suffered the first symptoms of multiple sclerosis, which was to haunt him for the rest of his life. • Even if he lived in poverty and the disease has affected his abilities, Luchian made a lot of impressive work. • After 16 years of suffering, he dies in 1916 in Bucharest.

CIPRIAN PORUMBESCU (1853 -1883) • Ciprian Porumbescu (born Ciprian Golembiovski on October 14, 1853 – June 6, 1883) was a Romanian composer born in Sipotele Sucevei , Bucovina. He was among the most celebrated Romanian composers of his time; his popular works include ”Crai nou”, ”Trei culori”, ” Song for the 1 st of May”, ”Ballad for violin and piano”, and ”Serenada”. In addition, he composed the music for ”Pe-al nostru steag e scris Unire”, which was used for Albania's national anthem, Hymni i Flamurit. His work spreads over various forms and musical genres, but the majority of his work is choral and operetta.
