Topic The Elements of a Story (Identifying the elements present in a story using the video “The Turtle and the Rabbit”)
Objectives the students should be able to do the following:
Objectives 1. Identify the characters, the setting and the important events that happened in the story
Objectives 2. Know morals of a story and relate it to personal life
Objectives 3. Foster a passion for reading and enhance comprehension through the use of multimedia content
Pre-requisites • Able to read words, phrases, sentences • Knows what a story is
Target Learners: 25 – 30 Students in the 3 rd grade studying in a private elementary school
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes (75 minutes) for 1 meeting

Instructions • Identify what element of the story does the drawings/pictures belong. Put them under the correct category. • Fill out the blanks by putting the correct picture or drawing based on the sequence of the story.

The turtle then caught up with the rabbit while he was sleeping. The rabbit woke up, and realized that the turtle was near the finish line, so he hurried but it was too late. The ____ won and got the _____ in the race.
