Teamwork Makes the Dream Work Bridge Building Team Activity

Directions • You will be placed into teams of 3 to 4 students. • You will be given the supplies to build a bridge but can’t touch the materials until the teacher say to start • Once you start you have only a certain amount of time to build the bridge with materials given

Supplies List: • • Large piece of butcher paper 2 cups 2 paper plates 2 feet of masking tape

Rules: • Your bridge must be self supporting with no team member touching the bridge. • Your bridge must stand 2 feet tall while extending 1 meter across. • You bridge may be slanted but the any part of the bridge must be taller then the 2 foot requirement. • Your bridge must allow a small ball to roll across without the bridge collapsing.

Team Leader • Before you start brainstorming you must select a team leader who will help guide your team to vistory. • You now have 5 minutes to brainstorm with your group about how you plan to build your bridge.

ALERT!!!!! • There has been a problem with the bridge building payroll department • The teacher will now be swapping your team leader for one from another group • You have 1 minute to catch up your new team leader with your bridge idea.

BUILD!! • You now have 10 minutes to build your bridge GOOD LUCK!!!
