Score Sheets #4: Scoring Records After a goal is scored, the official will skate over to you and give you the jersey numbers for the players that scored the goal and assists Record: • TYPE (in margin on score sheet for reference) “E” Evenhanded, “P” Powerplay, “S” Shorthanded, “O” Open Net Goal • PER Period 1, 2 or 3 • TIME Time on clock when goal is scored • TEAM “H” home team scored; “A” away team scored • SCORER Goal scorer (from official only) • ASSIST Assists (from official – if only one is given, draw line through second box

Stops by goalie that are wide of net are not shots, for example. At the end of each period, fill out the SHOTS ON GOAL for home and away teams. Total at the end of the game. Note time and name when (if) goaltender change and number of shots per goaltender.

Miscellaneous (yet important!) It is the responsibility of all home teams to provide personnel for scoring the games, running the clock and home team penalty box management. Keep in mind, parents assuming these roles are considered “off ice officials” and MUST refrain from comments to other teams, coaches, players, and officials. Focus must be on accurate management of the game at hand.
