Here we are in our school hall!
That’s me! Fedora My name is Fedora Marrocchella, I'm a primary school teacher. I graduated in foreign languages (English) in 1986 and I passed the examination for teachers 2 years after. Then I started teaching in different schools of Milan and suburbs as an help teacher and replacement teacher. I’ve been teaching at Riccardo Massa since 2001. I teach English, Italian, History, Music, Arts, in one class. My interest in teaching is interactive lessons, pair work and group work. In the last year I tried out history lessons with CLIL methodology. I took part in two Comenius Projects Partnership with six Countries, in one of them I did the coordinator.
That’s me! Nina My name is Antonina Stallone, Nina for short. I studied foreign Languages and Literature at the University of Palermo. I chose to live in Milan in 2002 and I love the city, it’s always on the move. I’ve been teaching at Riccardo Massa School for 12 years and I like to collaborate with my colleagues. In the current school year I teach Maths, English and Art in a third class; my pupils are 8 years and every single day I learn something new from them. I love teaching and in truth I think. . . I don't work but I still go to school!
That’s Me! Raffaele My name's Raffaele Mercuri and I’m 42. I graduated in Modern Languages (English and French) at the University of Messina (Sicily). I live in Milan where I work as a primary school teacher. I started my teaching career about ten years ago and I’ve always taught in primary schools. At the beginning of my career, I’ve worked as a substitute teacher and special education teacher, then eventually as an english teacher. I’m currently working at Riccardo Massa Primary School where I’m teaching Maths, Science, English and Music to first class students aged between 6 and 7. I'm interested in digital learning and I like to create an effective digital learning environment through the use of the digital board (digital books, files, videos, songs) in the classroom.
OUR SCHOOL Riccardo Massa School is a public school located in the Gallaratese district, northwest of downtown Milan and next to the EXPO area. Our school has two levels: elementary and lower secondary. There are three elementary schools located very close to one another; among them, a school is based on the Montessori method. We also have two lower secondary schools; one of them follows the Montessori method as well. The total amount of students attending our school is approximately 1400.
WHY RICCARDO MASSA Our school was named after Riccardo Massa, an italian philosopher and pedagogue from the 50’s. Here it follows one of his most famous quotes: «Think of school as an opening to the world through the opening of a world to fill up and occupy with your own body and mind»
WHY ERASMUS+ Taking part to such a project is a big opportunity for all teachers and their professional development. You can improve your teaching skills, cooperate with teachers from different countries, learn new approaches and methodologies. We have chosen this course because we also expect to improve our relationship with students and catch their attention much more through new didactic tools.
