Tate gallery

In 1897, was opened Tate gallery, which is considered one of the largest collections of English art of the little ice age (16 -20 th centuries).

The gallery has received its name in honor of its Creator - sir Henry Tate. Being British sugar king, he supported a number of talented artists. A huge number of works of painters Henry bought for myself. Soon his collection took pride of place in the gallery of British art, which has over sixty thousand splendid works.

Over sixty thousand works of art: paintings, sculpture, drawings, prints are stored in the national Museum of London, the Tate gallery.
