Task 2. Classroom Manipulative. Identify models and manipulatives that are available to use in a mathematics classroom that you visit. Did you see them being used? I see a lot of materials that the teacher used in the math class. If so, what models and manipulatives were used? She use cubes to explain for the pattern, she used also a coins to solve problem question for pattern lesson. additionaly, she use a place value chart to to presenting number lesson. Ask your MST about how she organizes her class when she uses manipulatives. Does she write her lessons differently? Yes. Actually, she write her lessons differently which depend on the material that she will use it in the classroom. Does she use more or less time for the activities? She use about 75 % of the time for student work and she talk just 25% of the time class. So, she gave to each activity about 20 minutes to do it and she focus on low level activity. How does she prepare the materials before the lesson? She ask the assistant to prepare the materials before the lesson start. How does she give directions or model the use of the manipulatives? She put on the smart board a direction that the student should to follow it.
