Task 1. Mathematics in the School & My Classroom. Examine the table of contents for the math textbook used at your Teaching Practice Placement. How does the content align with the CCSS for your grade level? Observe the math classroom arrangement (desks, shelves, materials, walls, etc. ) Take pictures to post in your portfolio. Post the typical weekly schedule for one group of students for all their classes. Examine your MST’s lesson plans. Take pictures or collect samples to post in your portfolio. How does she write plans for the week? For the semester? In this teaching practice, I will teach grade four. Through my observed this class in the first week, i found that they have a big book for math which contains twelve unite. Additionally, I found that each unite in their book align with the common core state standers. These is mean the teacher wrote common core standards in her weekly lesson plan to make focusing about it. However, My MST make a weekly lesson plan which contains 3 to 4 objectives, resources that she needed in the week and instruction for the teacher. In my opinion, it is a good way to do a plan for a week rather than to do it each day. These will be better for both teacher and student. Also, she make a lesson plan for the semester but as a generally way.

Pictures that relate to task 1: This is the table of contents for the math textbook. It contains 16 unite and each unite have a relationship to another unite. Now, they are in unite 2 which is generate and analyze patterns. My MST arranged the desks as pairs. At the same time, the student can work as a group through moving their chair. Pairs work can gives learner more speaking time. Additionally, it allows them to move around the class.

I observed that the teacher puts all the materials such as books, papers and files in the bookstore. The bookstore can help the teacher to identify the book quickly. During my observation, I saw a lot of boards on the wall in the classroom. In 4 B classes, have 4 boards and each board for each subject. For example, they have a board for math subject which include the students work.

This is the schedule for 4 B classes. I found that they take 8 math classes each week. So, I attend all math classes, all science classes and English classes also. This is my MST lesson plan. It is for math class for the first week of my teaching practice.
