Task 1 – Andros Recovering ECE 400 Andros work (with Roselyne). From last SAFER meeting – 6/29 • Kermit arrived • Touch-screen is damaged – contacting support at Tern for next step • The working code is loaded on the touchscreen and was tested on Andros (hard-wired). • Testing successful (=> T/S moved Andros) • Next steps: – Get touch screen repaired – Wirelessly test Andros 1

Task 1 – Andros (con’t. ) Recovering ECE 400 Andros work (with Roselyne). • Touch-screen is not damaged – learned additional capability on the T/S platform • The working code is loaded on the touchscreen and was sucessfully tested on Andros (wirelessly). • Testing successful (=> T/S moved Andros) • Next: – Demonstration-on-demand capability – Further mapping of old control box functions using Kermit 2

Task 2 – GUI for Andros on Windows XP • GUI has been constructed (60%) • Issues: – Com port => still can not access the serial port • Solution: Active. X (2002 VC++. net) • Still learning the development environment • Output: Functional GUI that sends RS-232 commands. 3

Task 3 – PTZ brick • Late week => compile information / develop a first draft by start of next week • Output: Prototype system completed and design with a report 4

Other Tasks • Schedule for help set-up IRIS-West • REMOTEC Correspondence with Royce Hollman – very difficult to contact by phone – Via email, has stated that the new Andros will be ready in late September or early October. • Near future: telephone conference concerning wireless system 5

Summary • Work on Andros – demonstration is ready on request • PTZ complile info / initial draft • GUI development – seek COM solution • Continue ECE 504 (August 6 th) 6
