Task 1 – Andros Components • Finalizing and operating new Andros to arrive in July. • Recovering ECE 400 Andros work (with Roselyne). • Decoding with Kermit Andros control signals. • Lead set-up of IRIS West. • Output: Functional old and new Andros and control information 1

Task 1 – Andros • Andros II has not arrived. • The working code is loaded on the touchscreen and ready to be tested. • Need to check the wireless and possibly test Andros with it or directly connect the screen to the robot. (Should have all the hardware needed for either case) 2

Task 1 - Andros • Kermit must be purchased before we can begin this task. To purchase/install Kermit, the laboratory network at IRIS-West must be functional. • The KERMIT version ordered for last project is easy to download from the internet. • Sent an email to support@e-academy. com to find out if there was another option 3

Task 1 – Andros • Work on Andros was slightly delayed since last Friday because of set-up issues at IRIS -West, and missing hardware. 4

Task 2 – GUI for Andros on Windows XP • Learning Visual C++. • Learning RS-232 Visual C++ interface. • Output: Functional GUI that sends RS-232 commands. 5

Task 2 – GUI for Andros on Windows XP • Qian has offered to assist with the development of the RS-232 application. 6

Task 3 – PTZ brick Components • • Familiarization with brick concepts Survey and select a camera. Survey and select a processor. Survey and select a wireless module (802. 11 g, for video). • Design and build a PTZ brick. • Output: Prototype system completed and design with a report 7

Task 3 – PTZ brick Brick “Concept” • Consists of processor, a wireless module, a sensor, and a power supply. • Components should be interchangeable, ideally. • The brick is to be placed on a “platform. ” 8

Task 3 – PTZ brick • Work on this project has not started. It was approved last Thursday, and since there has been no work completed on this. 9
