TARGET TRACKER LINK OBSERVATION SHARING PLATFORM Why do
TARGET TRACKER LINK OBSERVATION SHARING PLATFORM
Why do we do observations? On-going formative assessment Assess against the Early Learning Goals (EYFS) At the heart of effective early years practice Part of our planning cycle – informs us what the child’s next steps are
How do we observe? Written comments/notes in work books Notes taken after a phonics session or maths activity Write down what children say Photographs
Assessments Assess using the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum Target Tracker is the whole school assessment tool Target Tracker used within ODST Academy
How does it work? Photographs (sometimes just notes) are uploaded on Target Tracker through the use of a companion app The child’s learning is linked to a statement from one (or more) of the ‘Areas of Learning’ e. g. Literacy, Communication and Language or Physical Development The statement is then assessed at either ‘Working towards’, ‘Achieved’ or ‘Mastered’ I can also assess the Characteristics of Effective Learning (COEL) e. g. how long did they concentrate for, did they think of their own idea, are they proud of how they achieved something?
Title Target Tracker and Homeroom are used for different purposes Target Tracker is a formal assessment tool Homeroom is ‘informal’ Observations are our evidence Will not upload every photograph we take of your child – needs to demonstrate ‘new learning’
