Mae Hensley Citizenship Pledge v Be aware of the time so you get to class before the tardy bell rings. v Be in your seat before the tardy bell rings. v Have materials on desktop before bell rings. v At the sound of the bell, students are silent and ready for class to begin.
Why was I tardy? v What types of things might make me late to class? v. How can I avoid this so it does not happen in the future? v. How can my parents help me so that I am not late to 1 st period? v. How can being late to class negatively affect your education and the education of others?
Tardy to 1 st Period v v Front gates to school will be shut and locked at 8: 00 a. m. daily. Students will then go into the front office where they will receive a tardy. Being late to class can equal warnings, detentions, phone calls home to parents, and/or home suspension. BE ON TIME TO ALL CLASSES!!
Tardy to st 1 Period Show up to school after 8: 00 a. m. = Go through the front office and receive late slip or detention form. This form will be presented to your 1 st period teacher as you quietly enter your classroom. Students who do not present a pass will be given a tardy by the teacher.
Semester Tardy Policy TARDY CONSEQUENCE 1 & 2 --------Warning by classroom teacher 3 & 4 --------One hour detention and parent contact 5 & 6 --------Two hours detention and parent contact 7 & 8 --------Two hours detention, loss of dance privilege, and parent contact 9 & 10 -------1 day home suspension, parent contact, and SARB 11 or more-------3 -5 days home suspension, parent
S. A. R. B School Attendance Review Board is a panel of people representing Mae Hensley Junior High, Ceres Police Department, Healthy Families, and Child Welfare and Attendance (school district representatives). This panel will address students and parents of students with serious attendance issues.
Absences v v v Parents need to call the office and explain the reason for your absence. If the office is not informed of your absence, the school will call home to find out why you were not at school. If a student is absent for more than 20 school days, they may not be eligible for graduation.
EVERY DAY COUNTS!! v Being in school every day is essential for you to be academically successful. v Being on time to all of your classes every day promotes your learning and does not disrupt the learning of others. v Don’t forget that EVERY DAY COUNTS!!
