Significance �The Tabularium was the official office for records in ancient Rome �A large part of the archives in the Tabularium pertaining to the nearby temple of Saturn �Many city officials also lived in it

Origin of Tabularium �The Tabularium was built around 78 BC �It was ordered into creation by Quintus Lutatius Catulus , one of the consuls at the time �The building was created as part of a public works project to redo the Capitoline hill after the fire of 83 BC

Location �The Tabularium was located in the Roman forum on the Capitoline hill on the south-east slope �It is positioned near the temple of Saturn �Also above it on the hill was the temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus

Tabularium Today �Today the Tabularium no longer exists, but instead it is now the Palazzo Senatorio �It was built right on top of the Tabularium �Before that in 46 AD, the Tabularium was restored by emperor Claudius
