Discuss the meaning of the quotes you select and elect one member of your group to be the scribe. Do not summarize the quotes, but rather contextualize Camus’ use of the symbols for the moment they appear in the novel and connect them thoroughly to one or more of Camus’ central arguments (themes). You will turn this paper in at the end of the period. (30 points) • 2. Write the quotes on your paper. Consider spacing and color. Use your best visual rhetoric skills and make it look neat and legible. (10 Points) • 3. Draw a picture that you feel best represents the symbol/motif that you have been given. The better and more thoughtful the picture the higher your points will be in this category. Watch your time. You will have no additional time for the completion of this art work. It must be finished within the allotted period. (20 points) • 4. Present your poster to the class.

• points) • 4. Present your poster to the class. Select the most skilled orator of your group. The orator may wish to take notes from step one. The paper you turn in to me with quotes and explanations will not be returned. The orator should be prepared to answer additional questions from me or the audience with a thorough knowledge of his or her symbol. If you are struggling with this—prepare some more at home. We will present these to the class on Monday. (30 points) • 5. The last ten points are based on the total participation of your group. You must demonstrated 100% productive participation from all group members. If you have a lazy gato in your group, the manager should keep him/her engaged or it will cost you in this category. If I see one phone, tablet, or electronic device at any point during this period, your group will get a zero for category 5.
