The Journey of the Switch form What happens when a member completes a Switch form?

Steward / Organiser ensures form is completed in full by the member

What does the member do now? Absolutely nothing! Sit back and relax whilst UNISON completes the journey for you.

Completed form is now sensitive data we must now protect and keep it secure during its transportation to the branch

The form is then processed on UNISON’s data system by the branch administrator (taking into consideration certain dates) Warning Deadlines ahead

The member’s employer is contacted by the branch to cancel the members payments of subscriptions through their wages

UNISON national team send a letter to the member informing them when UNISON will be collecting the first payment out of their bank account

The form is then securely stored for 7 years at Regional HQ and then securely destroyed after this time

The member has stayed protected with UNISON
