Typical Troubled Family Profile
Expanded Programme - 2015 -2020 Families are eligible for the TF programme if they have 2 of the 6 following problems identified on EHR&P: ü Parent and children involved in crime or ASB ü Children not attending school regularly ü Children who need help ü Adults out of work or at risk of financial exclusion and young people at risk of worklessness ü Families affected by DV/A ü Parents and children with a range of health problems
How can schools help? ü Spot the issues early, - see the adult see the child ü Whole family information gathered and shared ü Does this family meet the TF criteria? 2+ issues ü Carry out an assessment (EHR&P) gives us a comprehensive understanding of the issues in the family and also captures the good stuff: ü Informs better Care Plans ü Joint collaborative family working with partners ü Ultimately achieves more positive outcomes
The Opportunity … ü To learn from, and build on, the successes to date ü To work with more families - earlier ü Continue to improve the assessment of a families needs and co-ordinate services ü Greater joint investment with partners in early intervention and prevention to drive down demand avoid longer term need for reactive, specialist services.
The End Goal …. By delivering the right services and the right interventions at the right time in a family’s journey, we can start to manage ‘complex dependency’ and reduce later service demand. BUT …. . We can’t do this without your help! Please email: gwheeler@swindon. gov. uk for more information on the Troubled Families Programme.
