Position of Sweden occupies the eastern part of the Scandinavian Peninsula and is the fourth largest country in Europe. Sweden’s boundaries are Finland, Norway and Baltic sea.

History • Around the year 1400, an attempt was made to include Sweden, Norway, and Denmark into one kingdom, but this caused a fight between the Danes and the Swedes. • Sweden took part in the Thirty Years’ War. With the peace of Westphalia, Sweden obtained western Pomerania and some territories on the Baltic. • During World War 1°, Sweden remained neutral. • The country joined the European union in 1995.
