SUTRA [ Sustainable Urban TRAnsportation ] WP 10/12: Scenario Analysis q The objectives of WP 10 are: ü The simulation and analysis of the set of scenarios defined in work package WP 10 for each of the application sites (Buenos Aires, Gdansk, Geneva, Genova, Lisbon, Thessaloniki, Tel Aviv). ü The evaluation of the scenarios in terms of the indicators of sustainable urban transportation defined in work package WP 08. SUTRA [ Sustainable Urban TRAnsportation ] WP 10/12: Scenario Analysis q Description of work on WP 10: ü This work package proceeds in parallel in all 7 city test cases. While they all use a common methodology and set of tools to generate directly comparable results for the overall evaluation, each city has specific properties and problems that are reflected in specific scenarios going beyond the common set. ü The responsible partner for this work package will coordinate the effort in each city to guarantee a coherent and consistent set of results for the comparative analysis. All partners contributing to the common methodology and set of tools will provide support to the individual applications. üAt least one modeling workshop, in conjunction with one of the regular project steering committee meetings, is foreseen in the context of this work package. SUTRA [ Sustainable Urban TRAnsportation ] WP 10/12: Scenario Analysis q Transport Emissions modeling: Emissions from vehicular traffic are usually determined based on emission factors (typically from EPA, the German Umweltbundesamt, or CORINAIR). SUTRA will adapt a traffic emission model to interface directly with the related analytical components, in particular the transportation model as its main input and the air quality models as the main user for the emission data. That will include bottom-up and top-down approaches in order to obtain emission data with higher temporal and spatial resolution. Estimation of traffic emission will be based on the results of the traffic simulation model, and in parallel on local data sets including traffic counting and emission factors for several vehicle types and driving patterns.
