SWIP - Importance • Sustainable Water Master Plan SWIP is critical to Santa Monica’s goal of water selfsufficiency by 2023. • Offset Imported Water with locally produced water (not for new demand) • Reduces greenhouse gases related to the energy to import water. SWIP – Consideration For Special Condition #4 Consider Addition of the following language to Special Condition #4: 1. A. iii Upon providing required advance notice to permittees’ qualified Native American monitor and subject to Special Condition 1. B, nothing herein shall be interpreted to require City to stop project grading, excavation work, site preparation or landscaping activities associated with the approved development in the event that Native American monitor is not available to monitor excavation at the excavation times indicated in the notice.
