Environmental Performance Since our inception, we are maintaining the ethical trade practice at our facilities by implementing environmental sustainable technology. We have been meticulous to minimize the use of energy, water, chemicals and other materials. The facilities at Tusuka are prudently designed and operated in eco-friendly manner in order to minimize the environmental impact. Facility has established and joined at IFC backed Pa. Effluent Treatment Plant: TUSUKA has taken positive initiative to installed three Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) for it’s washing units (Tusuka Processing Ltd & Tusuka Washing Ltd. ) to meet BSR waste water standard by Physical-Chemical Effluent Treatment Plant. Facility has established and joined at IFC backed Pa. CT project lead by H&M is the lead brand IFC Clean Water Project lead by CARREFOUR. It has driven us to ensure the reduce use of water at the facilities and it controls from initial stage to ensuring the water used in production returns to natural water bodies without any harmful substances. Tracking and Monitoring Water Usage: Since the beginning, we have been tracking water usage throughout our factories by installing Electro-magnetic Flow meters. The driving of the whole system is controlled by an automated electric panel equipped with PLC (Programmable Logical Controller) with alarm devices to ensure accurate amount of water load for washing process and maintain the quantity of the output water, and ensure an economical management of the water usage which is 1% percent. With that data, we are able to compare across facility types and develop specific targets of reduction at each factory. Leakage & Consumption monitoring: In every wet processing machines, we measure the water consumption by flow meter and if we find any abnormal consumption, production department takes immediate action to inform the Complain Centre. We have 24 hours Maintenance Monitoring Team to identify & rectify the water leakage in machineries. The objectives of this team is to control wasting water and hence to minimize environmental impact on groundwater resource. The Average Water consumption at Tusuka wet processing units are as follows: Unit Tusuka Processing Ltd Consumption in m 3 70~80 Ltr/Pc of Garment Tusuka Washing Ltd 70~85 Ltr/Pc of Garment Remarks Now we are practicing less water recipe to reduce more. Recycling of water: At our PP spray section, we use the treated recycle water and also this water is used for garden watering, floor cleaning and car washing only. By this system, 3 % of recycled water is being used at our washing units. Energy Efficient Lighting System and machineries: Tusuka Energy saving practice means the reduction in the amount of energy consumed in a process or system. It is moving towards the direction of using energy efficient lighting system. It has already replaced 7682 LED lights with T 5 lights (which consume 18 watts of electricity less per hour). We have already replaced 1836 servo motors with clutch Motors (which has reduced 70% approx power consumption). USAID has recognized our effort on Energy Efficiency project by providing 7. 2 million BDT as grant. We have altered all the conventional motor and pump from the machine to conserve the energy. Conventional induction motors are less efficient while Energy efficient motors are designed with low operating cost and are 4— 5 % more efficient. Sometimes , simply called efficient energy use. Energy efficiency can enhance human health by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving outdoor air quality and decreasing acid rain as well as a good sustainable environment. So TUSUKA is practicing to save energy in the various processes. Home Previous Next
Condensate (Hot Water) Recovery Condensate water recovery means providing a second pipe to route & the Condensate (hot water/steam mixture) from the point of use or process back to the central boiler. Recovering condensate helps in many ways. Following are a few benefits of recovering condensate and mixing it with makeup water in a feed water tank. Condensate is an excellent source of feed water as it is relatively pure (compared to most water supplies) being condensed water vapor. Boiler water cycles of concentration can be increased and blow down amounts can be reduced with its use Improves energy efficiency Reduced greenhouse gas emissions (10% and more) Reduces water treatment chemical cost Reduces make-up water costs Reduces load on sewer system (Effluent Treatment Plant) and disposal costs Meet environmental regulations Condensate can also be used as the hot process water to use the enthalpy for heating coils or heat exchange units Home Previous Next

Saving Assessment for feed water tank insulation Parameter Natural Gas Consumption: The primary energy source for Tusuka is natural gas, which is supplied by the National gas supplier (Titas Gas Transmission & Distribution Co. ) of Bangladesh. Generators, boilers, domestic lines and machineries are run on this gas. The average gas consumption in 2016 is as follows: Generator Run: 45, 67, 214 m 3/year Boiler Run including machineries: 48, 26, 019. 395 m 3/year Parameter Unit Diameter of tank Length of tank Surface Area of Feed Tank Surface Temperature Ambient Temperature Surface Heat Losses Total Heat Loss Operating Hours Operating Days Heat Losses Annual Fuel Savings Volume for Generator Volume for Boiler Tusuka Trousers, Jeans & Processing Ltd. m 3 26, 34, 519 2937109 Tusuka Denim & Washing Ltd m 3 1932695 1800412 Tusuka Fashions Ltd m 3 0 35168. 835 Tusuka Apparels and Jeans & Polo Ltd m 3 0 53329. 56 Home Unit Values m m m 2 o. To save this Gas energy we have taken various measures such as the followings: De-scaling Boiler: 1 mm thick scale on boiler tube could increase fuel Consumption by 5 -8 %. So we always inspect and de-scale all the sediments periodically. Economizer: We have reduced fuel consumption by 1. 67% through increasing feed water temperature by 10°C (every 6°C increase results in 1% reduction in fuel consumption in boiler) and achieved monthly fuel savings of 25, 200 m 3. Repair Steam leakage: A small leak of 1 mm at 10 bar results in a loss of approximately 2. 5 kg of steam per hour. Our monitoring team relentlessly works to identify and rectify the steam leakages. Water footprint: Tusuka believes to be a sustainable RMG company by reducing the use of raw materials & natural resources to produce it’s products where water need to be use judicially and appropriately to save our environment as well. Thus the water consumption report of 2016 is as under: Table: 03 Water Consumption in m^3 -2016 Month January February March April May June July August September October November December TOTAL Ground Water Consumption Wet Process Consumption Boiler Cooling Tower + Generator + EGB Water consumption for utility (boiler, generator, cooling tower) Water use for domestic purposes ETP Out Let Sludge (kg) 123, 180 100, 216 4, 275 535 4, 810 20, 676 104, 121 67, 875 96, 393 77, 539 1, 606 560 2, 166 19, 012 71, 516 66, 475 110, 332 87, 043 1, 674 785 2, 459 21, 529 76, 098 42, 100 111, 220 86, 642 1, 670 722 2, 392 21, 040 84, 775 42, 275 118, 959 92, 107 1, 492 649 2, 141 19, 009 89, 967 53, 825 112, 852 93, 195 997 610 1, 607 21, 556 93, 232 42, 020 79, 712 56, 966 800 650 1, 450 9, 329 60, 495 24, 105 117, 582 87, 979 1, 016 630 1, 646 16, 656 90, 922 34, 780 70, 730 47, 210 786 590 1, 376 13, 547 49, 183 11, 211 113, 678 82, 914 981 620 1, 601 19, 162 90, 146 29, 846 120, 465 88, 512 1, 428 616 2, 044 18, 873 91, 983 31, 629 109, 893 85, 809 972 640 1, 612 19, 564 89, 145 34, 805 1, 284, 996 986, 132 7, 607 25, 304 219, 953 991, 583 Home 480, 946 Previous Remarks Next
