Impact of Technology on Human Interactions Face to Face interactions rarely occur Less interaction with people that could be valuable Often strives for quantity not quality in social media New form of bullying adapted Increase in stress levels due to social media Loss of social skills Distribution of birthday wishes as of 2012
Impact of Technology: Limited Resources Over the past centuries, as we further advanced in technology, the number of global issues increased dramatically: ● Climate change: Global Warming ● Ozone Depletion ● Exhaustion of natural resources - Coal, Silver, Gold, natural gasses ● Pollution
Limited Resources Cont. With the advancement in technology comes the mass production of factories and workshops made to create the products At the moment, we are “using resources and creating CO 2 emissions at a rate 44 percent faster than what nature can regenerate and absorb” Phys. org One cell phone alone uses an abundance of rare earth elements, and if billions of new phones are created yearly, then our resources will be depleted within the next century.
Impact of Technology on jobs. Loss of jobs “rapid technological change has been destroying jobs faster than it is creating them”-Brynjolfsson and Mc. Afee Workers unable to adjust the speed of the development of technology No more chess player because computers can easily beat human chess players. ● One day in the future, no human beings are to work. Noneeded more low skill jobs. Impact of technology will improve the difficulty for me to find a nice job.
