Grant Types and Rates (Dependent on your Household Income in 2016) • Undergraduate Level 6, 7 or 8 course undertaken at Institutes of Technology or Universities in the State Ø Fee Grant: YES - Student Contribution Fee of € 3, 000 2017/18 Ø Maintenance Grant: YES - Depending on meeting all Eligibility Criteria • Undergraduate Level 7 or 8 course undertaken at Institutions outside the State Ø Fee Grant: NO – Fees not covered Ø Maintenance Grant YES - Depending on meeting all Eligibility Criteria
For Higher Education Undergraduate Students & Awards in the State Ø Where the Household Income for 2016 is: Ø € 39, 875 or less you would be eligible for 100% Maintenance Grant Ø AWARD € 1, 215 per academic year- € 135 per month Ø Where you are less than 45 kms from home to College Ø Paid directly into your bank account each month Ø Student Contribution Fee € 3, 000 paid directly to your college Ø € 39, 875 or less you would be eligible for 100% Maintenance Grant Ø AWARD € 3, 025 per academic year- € 336 per month Ø Where you are more than 45 kms from home to College Ø Paid directly into your bank account each month Ø Student Contribution Fee € 3, 000 paid directly to your college
Income Thresholds Undergraduate Students Ø Where the Household Income for 2016 is less than € 23, 000 and has an eligible long term Department of Social Protection Payment on 31/12/2016: You may be eligible for the Special Rate of Maintenance.
