THE MISSION: To prevent youth violence in high schools. THE VISION: To raise awareness, build character, increase confidence, and encourage tolerance within schools.
Fights happen in our Kwantlen Park Secondary, students are being victimized, majority of these fights are not prevented. Many students just watch, and most do nothing to change it. There have been a dozen fights in our own school this year. That we know of.
We will use our 100 000 people hours to bring in volunteers to educate schools about our mission and vision. Workshops will run once a year by volunteers who will also run after-school discussions. Students will have the opportunity To see a counsellor throughout the year. 100 000 PEOPLE HOUR
BUDGET After-school activities will require: Experienced volunteers Places to hold field trips (like senior homes, elementary schools within walking distance). Supplies for games and activities. In future phases to maintain workshops and programs, we hope to gain sponsorship from large companies to maintain our mission.
