Surrealism Project • Surrealism (1924 -1945)- Having a dreamlike quality but retains some aspects of realism. • Sigmund Freud’s theory about dreams and the unconscious mind popularized the movement (dreams having symbolic meaning). • The Surrealists Aim was to help people discover the larger reality or surreality that lay beyond normal Ideas of what was real.

Surrealist Sculpture Guidelines • You will gather at least three good quality realistic images to combine for your final surreal idea. (You may use select parts of the image) • You will create at least four GOOD QUALITY SKETCHES and Have them OKAYED by ME before beginning in clay!! • You will create a surrealist sculpture which is At Least 9 inches long in any one direction. • You will include AT LEAST four different types of texture in your piece.
