Introduction “The greatest wealth is health” ~Virgil. The fact that my mom is in the medical field influenced me in wanting to be to. In order to get a better understanding of my chosen career field of a surgeon, I will be researching: Nature of Work, Working Conditions, Education, Job Outlook, Earnings, and a Back up career.
Nature of Work Take a patient’s medical history, Recommend and design a plan of treatment, Review test results to identify any abnormal findings, Help patients take care of their health by discussing topics such as proper nutrition and hygiene, operate on patients to treat injuries, diseases, or deformities.
Work Conditions ü Physical: performing surgeries on different people. ü Mental: you have to know what you are doing. ü Indoor: you wouldn’t perform a surgery outside
Training, Qualifications, Advancement. v You need a doctoral or professional degree. The University of Massachusetts, future classes I can take are medical.
