Introduction • PPDR(Public Protection and Disaster Recovery) is one of main applications of HR-network • High reliability of network connection • Mobility support • Uplink heavy data service (>7 Mbps for high definition TV) • Limitation of existing OFDMA PHY for PPDR application • Uplink transmission rate < 5. 5 Mbps • Poor data link quality for downlink transmission with channel estimation • The OFDMA symbol structure with modified pilot symbol assignment for 802. 16 -2009 based PHY system is proposed to fulfill the requirements of PPDR application
